Comparing the pronouns n:3 and T:n:3 the elements of the chen have been squashed both vertically and horizontally until all three fit into a carat. To be "perfect", the squashing should only be in the vertical. Horizontally the normal A! carat width should be retained. In other words the resulting en and chen should end up with the same width. At least, that is how they are printed in Gardiner.

I realize that this could be a difficult proposition and maybe not correct in other places. I presume you had to make a compromise.
